Week 9 Final Blog

From the beginning of my blog, I have the idea that the privacy of the social media is very important and significant. I repeated it for several times and gave the idea that people should focus on protecting the privacy of the social media. I focused more on the significance of privacy while I didn't really give some ideas on how to protect the privacy, what we can do to fix the problems.


Based on the first weeks lecture, I saw the disadvangeous part of the social media. For my own, I am not a big fan of Twitter and facebook and I seldom used it. I thought they are just for communication and the MSN and the mobile devices have already had these functions. So, I really worried about the dangerous part of the social media meanwhile, I don't really think there would be some good  Entrepreneurship Idea.But after I listened to Professor's lectures and create my own Twitter in the lab this semester, I finally figured out why so many people have a crush on these social medias. The technologies really offer people happiness and convenience. Meanwhile, the advanced technologies would even provide people opportunies in job, studies and so on.


I found out that the spirit of developing technologies is to offer most of the normal citizens in the world a better and happier life. Maybe they would not know how these techniques really work, but it should be in their life.


So, I found it's very important to establish the technology for the credit card like people should have the key of the credit card and everytime they pay for the things,people should press the key of the credit card instead of the just signing their own name. For the use of MP3, maybe it's better to have the voice recognition program so that people could easily enjoy the music or someday in the future, enjoy the karaoke at home. Furthermore, I think the future of the mobile devices shall be very large. Looking at the concept features of the IPHONE 5 in the video from YOUTUBE, we could see that people are really looking forward to having a smaller device with more advanced functions.


It's really amazing to see the advantageous part of the technologies. Based on the lectures, labs and project, I gradually find technologies would be everywhere in our life. What we should do is to improve it, use if properly and develop effectively.

Week 9 Blog Review

According to Wikipedia,"Robert Scoble (born January 18, 1965) is an American blogger, technical evangelist, and author. Scoble is best known for his blog, Scobleizer, which came to prominence during his tenure as a technology evangelist at Microsoft. "(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Scoble).It's the first time seeing his name and finding out that he was a famous blogger focusing on the technologies and modern techniques. That aroused my interets of his blogs.


It's amazing that Robert Scoble inserts a video to each blog he posts online.He introduces the latest camera, the magical technology which people use only three iphone to do something amazing, the Crittercism, the new social media,online karaoke and so on.


Instead of talking about some advanced techonologies which could only be understood by some professionals, Robert Scoble introduces some useful and common softwares and techniques that really feed the need of the common people. Like the Singboard Brings Karaoke to the Internet, he focuses on the idea of Singboard which is where Youtube meets Karaoke. People could choose the online songs and
choose from among the top 100 music videos on YouTube. They can play the songs , stop them, replay them. It's just like what people do when they were karaoking. People can just enjoy the karaoke at home! We can see the very positive part of Singboard: we could enjoy the music at home. It saves the money, place and time. And people could still enjoy the music and life.


Furthermore, he would introduce something that we are familiar but with some more functions,like Ipad.In the Tonara: An iPad App for Musicians, he introduces Tonara has developed an iPad app that helps eliminate this burden while providing additional innovative features to assist musicians. "This technology is called acoustic polyphonic score following.....Score following is the ability, given the scores of a certain piece or song and the live performance of this piece, to follow with very high precision the exact location in the score of the performance. Acoustic means that it works with acoustic instruments like the piano or violin. It doesn’t have to have a digital connection....."With this technologies, it means even the beginners can follow. The program would defintely be a tool for people who enjoys the music. In the future, it would even have the function that coule correct people's playing in the future.


I always believe that the spirit of the technologies is to make the life better and more convenient.Maybe some people really focus on the professional knowledges but for me, I really think that people should emphasis more on the technologies that make the life better.

Week 7 Market of mobile operating system

Nowadays, the operating systems become more and more developed. When the appearance of the laptops and computers become more and more fantastic, the operating systems also become more and more advanced in order to satisfy the needs of different customers.


It's a trend that people are chasing after some electronic devices with less weight as well as more advanced and quicker equipments. Because of that, the mobile devices take more and more occupation in the IT field.


Some people still complains that even though they have the MAC air,the lightest computer in the world, they are still wanting some electronic devices which are lighter and still offer the same function as the  laptops. They hope that one day the laptops are small as the mobiles or the mobile devices can have the same function as the laptops. And that's our final aim.

We may use the laser to put the projection of the keyboard on the table in front of the user so that people can use the keyboard on the table and type the world. We may try to design a system which  is far much lighter and can contain in the small body of a mobile device.And also, we  may also install some basic software inside like Word, notebook, MSN, facebook and other in the devices. Thus, the computers shall be the mobile devices that people can hide in the pocket. Or someday, people don't need to have the big laptops because we have already had someone inside our pocket.

Week 6- Bits and Bytes

The MP3 and WAV are files of the music. Both of them are good and useful. I think the main difference may be that MP3 occupies less storage than WAV.  

I will use the MP3 instead of WAV because it can save the storage and require more space. Nowadays people are likely to enjoy the music more often than in the past days.So,I think how the online music can be popular to people can not only be based on  the less storage but on the advanced functions.

I think it shall be better to design the software of voice recognition to play the MP3 only by saying the song of the name.Just like the voice recognition software in the new IPHONE 4S which could be used to ask for the roads, add the reminds of important things, the voice recognition could be used as the same function. Furthermore, with the online service, people can order whatever they want to listen to just by talking it. The mass media and player can also provide the suitable picture for the music. After all, it's more like a home cafe with comfortable sofa and cookies.And whatever you want to do can be controlled by your voice.

Week 5--Google Wallet

Smart phones? Powerful Google?


I am sure Google Wallet astonished everyone in the class on Monday. I always think that Google was a powerful search engine. But I never realize that Google will someday be so…crazy!


Let us think about this: If one day Google Wallet is used by most of the people in U.S, or even more, people in different countries, what will happen? Every one will use Google’s smart phone, everyone will use the software- Google Wallet, and every one will use the credit cards that can only be used on the Google Wallet. Then, Google find itself run such a successful business. Google may monopoly a series of business if they want. They can monopolize which credit card people will use. If Google Wallet only offers the services for MasterCard instead of debit card, the MasterCard may be used more widely. Likewise, if Google Wallet can only be used on Nexus S: The new Android phone from Google, and Iphone and blackberry may not be as popular as they are today…


So many things may happen because of this reformation in payment by credit card including the security problems…

Week 4 Hardware&Privacy

You are at serious risk!

Just as some people can steal the private information from the others, they can also steal the personal identified information in various ways including stealing the wallet from the others in order to get the ID card, searching for the papers you have thrown away in the trash bin and so on. With your social security number, your name, your personal information, it’s horrible to consider that you can be easily replaced by another person. He or she can later enjoy your life. At that time he becomes who you are.

They steal your life from you.

When I come to America, I found people using credit card or debit card everywhere. But one thing astonishes me: At most of the time in most places, people just swipe the card and sign their name on the receipt then everything is done with your signature. What will happen if you lost your credit card and someone takes it? What they need is only swipe it and use it! And you will never know what happened until you realized you had lost your card or check your bills online finding something strange. I mean, the easiness to use the card maybe one of the reasons the information can be stolen so easily. We can set up keys for each credit card. Surely it will bring some troubles if someone forgets their keys. However, it is safer because only the owner himself or herself know the keys and no one can easily use them. In the future, when the technology is more developed, the fingerprint identification can be used more in this area instead of personal signature on the receipt because one’s fingerprint is unique.

Week 3 Privacy&Social Media

Privacy is dead.

Generally speaking, Internet is a highly developed technology which enables people to have a better understanding of life as well as communicate to each other with higher speed and more convenience. However, it happens to us there is also a group of people using this technique to steal other people’s privacy information in order to make fun of or even worse, to blackmail, to threaten others. Face book, twitter and other social media, mainly for chatting and having fun are used as shortcuts to steal private information.

Setting up the private settings on the face book page, protecting the computers with the antivirus software, throwing the rubbish email away in our box every day are not just enough to protect our privacy. We don’t know at what point the photos we posted in our face book pages will be shown to the public; we may don’t understand why the pictures which are supposed to be shared only to our closest friends are there. It doesn’t make any sense.

Some people may think it’s funny for making the jokes just like they are making the jokes at their friends. But people who are laughed at are only the ones who want to share the happiness of life with others.

We should respect, for the knowledge, for the humanity, for every individual, no matter how advanced our technology is.
